Heinz Magic Onions Prize Recipes

26 pages. 6 x 9 inches. No publishing date given, small print on rear cover edge says HR-59/112. Vintage advertising cookbook for the commercia restaurant operator that uses Magic Onions from Heinz as an ingredient. Magic Onions were dehydrated 'sun-spiced' onions in a can. These are large quantity recipes. Some of the recipes include Bouillabaisse, Atomic Roast, Hungarian Goulash, Baked Mackerel, Hush Puppies, Scrambled Eggs Supreme, Eggplant Egyptian, Corn Salad and Chow Hamburger Relish. Illustrated with drawings, near the rear is an illustration of a can of the Magic Onions. This book is quite worn and shows rippling from dampness on some of the pages, chips and creases to the cover, some light soiling, dampstain inside rear cover. Small patch of paper missing on front cover near corner, perhaps from a price tag. Some small edgetears on the cover, the pages are still bound together nicely.

Included are recipes for the simplest combinations of tossed greens with dozens of dressing suggestions, molded salads, sweet and tart, fruit salads for every season of the year, salad platters and salad bowls hearty enough for a main dish. Also, as a bonus, there is a chapter on salad 'frills' (radish roses, pickle fans, carrot curls, etc.), salad shortcuts and salad accompaniments. There are four pages of suggested menus - menus featuring salads for all around the clock. Illustrated in both color and back and white. Cover is worn and shows edgewear, worn corners and spine, soiling and some stains to cover and first two pages, and page edges. Still bound well, maybe a couple of small spots on interior pages.
